ABOUT THE FHIC

The Florida History Internet Center was established in 1995 by M. C. Bob Leonard, longtime Profesor of History at the Ybor Campus of Hillsborough Community College in Tampa.

The first goal of the site was to allow Professor Leonard to share his files and photographs about Florida history and Florida with students, educators, and the interested public. Although he came back for two years as a full-time temp (for a teacher he once helped hire), he has continued to teach selected courses at HCC as an adjunct.

For the last decade he has served as a content writer for various textbooks. In 2012 over 700,000 students in Florida carried a book that Professor Leonard had served to content edite. He has also contributed and written non-fiction books, including a book about his grandfather Bolossey Kiralfy.

Materials and photographs may be used on other sites and projects. Please credit the source as the FHIC or mcbobleonard. Many textbooks and non-fiction books and student reports have used this content.
